Default Anyone running a Spoon Caliper set-up on their DC-5?

Correct me if I'm wrong; but this is what I've heard from Opak Racing and other Spoon dealers about the set up for DC-5s

1. a set of OEM RSX rotors

2. a set of 00 S2000 brake pads

3. Goodrich stainless steel brake lines

4. DC-5 Spoon Calipers

5. DC-5 Spoon caliper adapter brackets

So the only Spoon stuff one would need to buy is the actual Spoon calipers and the Spoon caliper adapter brackets; everything else can be non-Spoon(to save money)

Spoon probably sells it to you the first time as a set, then if you need replacements you can just order that specific part. A brake kit w/ stock sized rotors? No mas!

I have the setup! You can use your oem rotors, jus get them resurfaced. They said I had to use the S2000 pads for sure. They didnt mention anything about any brake lines upgrade though. Im using my stocks for now. But yea for sure you need the caliper brackets.

btw I had to get wheel spacers to clear my rims. Jus' keep that in mind also......Good luck to you!

Whats ur wheel size and offset? And How many milimeter spacer are U using for your Spoon set-up? I'm going to run my DC-5R wheels; the calipers should fit with no spacers needed.

did you say dc-5r rim?? i doubt it will fit with 17x7 +60 offset. that rim will not fit even with stock rsx-s caliper. it all depends on the rim spoke design also. i had 17x7 +43 5 zigen imperio S-08, and it fits. some other rim like T-37 17x7.5 (or 8) with +42 will not fit and need spacer...... so spoke design and the offset is the key. i would suggest to print out the stoptech template, and use that template to see whether the stoptech will clear. if the stoptech template clear your rim, spoon caliper will fit for sure because it is a bit narrower than stoptech.

i also answer some of your questions on crsx already.

btw, s2k and rsx-s uses same hawk and axxis stock size front brake pads.

Default DC-5R Wheels won't fit Spoon Calipers?

How could the Spoon calipers not fit? The DC5-R wheels fit the ITR Brembo set-up that comes with the DC-5. If it could fit that; then the Spoon Calipers fitment wouldn't be an issue? The DC-5R wheels have a curved rim spoke design

sorry, my mistake. i was not thinking straight this morning. the itr rim fit the rsx-s stock caliper, but your itr rims tuck in more because of the +60 offset. if you look at the dc5-r setup with brembo, the caliper is really close to the spoke.

now, remember, the dc5-r axle and knuckle is different than the rsx-s. rsx-s axle is slightly shorter than the dc5-r axle, i forgot it is either 5 mm or 10 mm shorter. and the dc5-r knuckle design is different to compensate with the brembo caliper.

also another info, since work emotion has similar design with the dc5-r rim, 17x7 will have to use +35mm to clear the spoon caliper. my friend has to use that offset to clear the spoon caliper.

good luck.
