Default Crome and PLX-M300R

I'm running crome on a pr4 and picked up a plx m-300. I was wondering if crome needs the 02 sensor imput or if it just runs off the map burned onto the ecu. I know it has something to do with open and closed loop, but i'm not totally sure.

do i need to hook up the wb to the ecu or does the chipped ecu on crome not need the 02 data since its running off the data tables stored on the chip?

TIA

Rick

You need to splice the wideband output into the O2 sensor signal wire going to the ECU and then disable your O2 sensor completely. You need to calibrate Crome's settings to read the proper lambda values from that wideband.

so tap the wire from the stock 02 to the plx unit and then run off the plx only?

so the ecu does or does NOT see data from the 02?

sounds like i connect the plx to the ecu right?

Disable o2 feedback, wire in the plx output (0-5) to your primary o2 wire on your wiring harness, then calibrate crome's settings for your plx.

D14 is the wire for wideband input, if you want to log the readings

be sure to disable o2 sensor and run open loop when tuning...then if you want and u can close it back up...or if you are advanced...edit the close and open loop tables and set when open loop will engage at a certain rpm or Throttle body position..and close or run back into close loop when you are below that thresh point...

so does crome use the singals from the wideband or not? It sounds like i only need to hook it to the ecu if i want to store the data for later examination?

the plx can run stand alone. or you can run the narrow band wire in place of your stock o2 sensor. or you can disable the o2 sensor and run the wideband to the stock o2 sensor pin on the ecu and data logg. you could use crome pro, i feel its worth the $150.00. or you could use free log. but what ever you do you should do some reading on pgmfi.org first. good luck, it sould be clear as mudd now.
