Paypal locked up my account becuase of some charge back from like a year ago! now i'm screwed out of like 500 bucks! i call up paypal cust service number which was first of all IMPOSSIBLE to find and then they tell me they can't help me cuz i can't verify my phone number? what the **** kind of **** is that? i gave them my number and they said i can't be helped becuase thats not the number they have in THIER records! and the dude just hangs up on me!!! anyone else experience this from paypal??? unbelieveable!!!

 

Paypal makes my life easier and same for a ton of others.

 

It's your own fault for not having the correct information on file. It is also your own fault for not taking care of past debts. Maybe you should grow up and get your act together before you start blaming individuals who are just doing their job.

 

Um.. how am i supposed to update my account when it is LOCKED???
and furthermore i dont think its anyone's "job" to hang up on a customer..
anyway guess you wouldn't know since you've never been in my situation.

I've heard lots of bad things about paypal... I've never really had any problems with paypal before but I'm hoping that your situation's not gonna happen to me.

Maybe you all need to hear the whole story.. I sold this dude a ps2 last year over ebay. When he got it he said that playstation 2 was broken and didn't work.. funny how that could be being that it was brand new never opened factory sealed. Told him sorry no refunds being that i was selling it to him for so cheap at the time plus i'm not a business of any sort so everything was as is.. Anyway like two months ago i found out that the money i recieved from him is being charged back to my bank account becuase he disputed it with his credit card company and he won i guess. Anyway I tried disputing it with paypal and they are just NO help. Now they have my money in paypal account becuase they froze it and i can't even do anything about it becuase i dont remember the phone number i had given them when i signed up! i said can i speak to supervisor? they say no they dont take direct calls.. i said ok can they call me back? and they say no not without verifying your account.. so i said so what can i do? they say you can verify your account. i said i can't becuase i can't login to see what number i gave so can a supervisor just call me so we can try to handle this somehow? they say no.. and hangup on me! amazing ****.. well i'm going to get a lawyer to handle this... paypal is about to get sued...

how the hell does paypal help? the only reason paypal is kinda safe is you can use your credit card to dispute stuff if you have a problem and they will handle it with paypal.. well on the other hand not everyone uses a credit card.. i'm sure everyone has thier own experiences.. but mine is definitely bullshit.. anyway i'm just letting people know my story so they can avoid my mistake of using paypal in the first place..

 

Be proactive! IMMEDIATELY transfer that money into your account. Once it is in your account (checking or savings), they cannot touch it without your permission. I have always kept my Paypal account at $0.00 so I never lost any money if my account was frozen.

I've done alot of transactions through paypal, yet I'm not verified. Too lazy. But no problems so far. I have a credit card on my paypal account that has a limit of 300 bucks. So even if I get scammed or whatever, they cant get more than 300 bucks. Plus my limit on Paypal is 1000 a month. So either way, I'll be ok.

 

I'm not going to even get into this. If PayPal is so great, then why do these websites exist?

Ditto that ... the dude was paypal verified.. i guess paypal got scared by the dudes cc company and decided to pay them back and charge ME for it! so i call them to ask why they took it out of my account? and they said they didn't the credit card did through them.. what kind of bullshit is that? so i said how can i appeal? they said you gotta go through the dudes credit card company.. so i say ok which cc company did he use? they say we can't disclose that info so please go back to the buyer of your ps2 to get it.. umm too bad i dont have his email anymore since it was over a year ago! but anyway i was able to find his email using my paypal transactions view and of course the dude never writes me back.. so now he has my ps2 PLUS my money and i'm just sitting here with my *** stuck straight up taking up the rear like a bitch!
anyway thats my experience.. they are soooo rude on the phone and absolutely NO help.. its like talkin to a brick wall.. anyway just becareful dudes...

PAYPAL IS THe WORST!!!!! any transactions over 150$ use something else like an escrow...or a cahiers check with a CONTRACT!!!

paypal states that they never gaurantee the money if there is any fraudulant activity...so basically even though the guy is verfied or whatever...you can still get screwed...trust me ive been there.....after 20 transactions, i finally get screwed...so to you guy/gals that use paypal and think that it is safe.....just watch someday you will realize what a bunch of crooks they are....knock on wood though.....

 

I have been dealing through paypal.com for over a year and have had to make many changes to my account because of email accounts ending, moving, etc. You just have to keep your account updated and in check.

I've never had anything not arrive and I've never had anyone complain about anything I've sent them. No problems here, might be luck.

i got screwed $275 for some 98 headlights. I called ebay, I called paypal, I called san jose pd, i called austin pd. Nothing yet. Paypal determined it was this guy's fault but they couldn't get me his information or my money because his acct balance was $0. Of course this guy's balance would be $0!! Who would be dumb enough to leave money in their acct if you were trying to scam someone?!?!?! Other than that experience, I haven't had any problems with paypal except that they charge a butt load of money to accept any cash.
