Secret mods that can be done b4 a race so the car can perform better ?
Any one have any little secret mods that can be dont to your car last minute b4 a race to help the car run better ?
1) things like resettingthe ECU ,
2) bypassing the throttle body (coolant lines),
3) advancing timing a few degrees
4) octane booster
5) hotter/colder plugs
here are two that ppl say work ( anyone ever tried them )
block off the fuel return line . it increase the fuel in the fuel rail and therefore increase fuel pressure on injectors ( is this true , i have seen guys do it b4 and their car move somewhat better )
also a larger vtec solenoid : - what the hell .......... now i have never seen this b4 but read about it on the net , the guy says it increases power ?
do any of you guys have any secrets ?
turbo guys should have a good set of tricks !

1 Try lowering the pressure on your tires.
2 uncovering a small opening where the air filter meets the turbo intake elbow. (Top side so less chances of sucking up something. Only need about 2-3 inches of opening.) [My little favorite]
3 Try a $1.00 bag of ice on the intake manifold too. (This might be a little more difficult to get though).

yea def remove the belts, and ive seen kids cap off the vacum for the fuel rail but the car doesn't idle for sheeet and it just fouls the plugs if you do, :although who ever does it swears they feel a difference:
take off rear and maybe front bumper brackets
remove spare tire
take out all seats you dont need

im assuming you are talking about a drag race. if so, have someone ride shotgun in both cars. have the guy riding in the other car fill his pants with rocks, hehe.

-Run on an almost empty gas tank.
-Disconnect your exhaust.
-Replace doors and trunk w/gutted doors and trunk (if you don't care about your car).
-Remove seats.
-Decrease tire pressure.
All this would get my normal 14.8 down to a lowest of 14.2

roll down the windows and stick your arms out and paddle, having a passenger do this helps too
jack up the back end of the car so that you are always going downhill....
and then unbolt your exhaust after the header

If you have things like AC and PS on your car, pull those belts off ...
If you have a Cat converter, put a testpipe in there temporarily
Change the oil and filter the night before (huge increase)
If you dont have traction bars, use the smaller teflon straps to tie the control arms to the cross member to reduce excessive play.
With that said ... good luck

a little thing i learned from some bay area street racers is to pull of the tubes off of the hood that leads to the windshield squirters and route them to the front fender wells. One on each side. Fill up the reservoir with vht. And before a run, do a burnout while you turn on the windshield squirters.
does by capping the coolant line to the throttle really help? i had heard of this before but never tried it. don't you need the coolant to go through to help cool the engine? will this cause any problems to the motor? and should i take all the seats out or just the back one? i was told to leave the passenger seat on cuz it helps to plant your wheels down.
