I drive 4th, recommend 5th! Why?

5th gen pros...
1)Newer
2)Less rust problems around rear fenders
3)Better idle and in newer models more power
4)Longer gears, better gas mileage
5)You can get a super charger for it, where for the 4th you cant *Gets mad* God damn it I wanna supa charger.

4th gen pros
1) Better looking when moded right.
2) Faster in 0to60 because of shorter gears

As for the Supercharger, you can put a Jackson on a 4th gen..... (with alittle moddin of course)

for expletive's sake, this topic has been covered more times than "What intake should I buy"

buy what you like...the performance differences are so small that the driver will be the biggest factor in which is faster.

Silly boy.. For the rust the rubber was taken off the fender as soon as the car was bought.
As for the Supercharger, if you can find me those brackets that ive been looking for OW so long, youll be my new best friend. Ogh did I mention, no cutting or ******* with my engine bay should be involved? Yeah dat too. Thank you very much

Ohh sorry..... I have 232K on my 92, and have no rust, on my back fenders. The only rust I have is on the pillers(along the front windshield)
Dont ever put a aftermarket replacement front windshield in, always go with factory replacement.. Pay more, but it will save you in the end...

i think most could argue that objectively the 4th looks better. i think it does. sexier lines down the car and has more of a badass look to it, i think.

besides that, 4th gens are slightly lighter and have shorter gearing.

i vote 4th.

I think either one would make you happy but personally I like the interior of the 5th gen and I like the exterior of the 4 gen.
if i were looking for a full out race prelude i would go with a 4th gen but if i wanted to take some hot girl out would buy a 5th gen

i completly agree with all you guys^^^... the ONLY thing i dislike about the 4th gen is the VERY ugly dashboard design

I had 5th gen, now I have 4th gen, before I had third gen. :-)
And from different point of view- In the 5th gen I didn't have enough head clearance but more leg space in the rear seats. 4th gen has more head space but almost none for legs in the back. Also the 4th gen has OBD1 so you can adjust the base timing for an example.
I like the 4th better... I think

Ooooh man, wait till I get good at fiberglass and plastics... maybe that too can be altered. The possibilities are endless.

_OR_

With some altercation, how hard would it be to cram a 5th gen dash in a 4th?

do you want what everyone else wants or what you want? we're just gonna vote for what we have. that's why we got whichever one we did, like my 5th. you're talking a good price difference too.

IF you get a 5th DO NOT get an automatic. and SH's are good for track, but sometimes harder to find aftermarket stuff for. and they weigh more. that's pretty much all your options for 5ths. all have the same motor, more or less. happy hunting
