Clicking while turning
ok I got a 93 Teg and when I turn left I hear a clicking noise but I cant tell if it is coming from the left side or the right.... When you hear the clicking does it automaicly assume that its the axles or the CV joint? Also when I drive the car and accelerate the steering wheel shakes.
my friend had this problem before his car would shake while hes accelerating but he replaced his axel and it made everything all better again but when he turned it never made a clicking noise so it could possible be both im not sure but you can take it to a shop and they'll even check it out for free
um yea if u look at the axles u can see if the boots are all ripped up and that will be the one thats causin all the problems. You can do this by jus lookin under ur car dont have to pull anything apart. Also once u find the one you need to replace take it down wit u to get your new one cuz they will give u a core charge for the old one

Wheel bearings won't click....they will however cause the steering wheel to wobble. I have heard wheelbearings make rubbing noise but not clicking thats usually CV's.

yes you're right... wheel bearing dont click but make a metal on metal rubbing noise...

I assume your talking about the CV boots
the CV Joint won't rip...
Usually if the boots are cracked it is a short time before the CV joints go because the grease in the joint dries out and gets packed with dirt and road debris...
The joints can still go without the boots being shot...if you recently purchase the car the previous owner could have replaced the boots and not the joints before he sold it because it is MUCH cheaper to do the boots than the joints....
Take your car into a big empty parking lot, turn your wheels all the way right and then start to drive, as you speed up the clicking should get faster, try turning the other way and doing the same thing, if the joints click loudly and get increasingly louder as you speed up your CV's are gone for sure....hope this helps

I'm guessing both your axles are probably pretty old. If one of them is still good it probably won't last much longer. I would bite the bullet and just swap out both axles, problems should go away (provided you don't get crappy rebuild axles like CCT brand from AutoZone or NAPA).

money on axles if it was bearings it would make a howling sound at like 35+ mph.
Mine did it about a year ago after i got my teg cuz the previous owner put a punka$$ phantom grip in my baby and i didnt figure it out until i replaced both axles and intermediate shaft.

Your right outer cv joint is bad so you need to replace the right axle. When you turn left your right side wheel has to turn at a faster speed than the inside left wheel which is why you hear the clicking when you turn your car to the left.
