max rim size for 1996 honda civic hx
i was wondering if naybody could tell me what is the biggest rim i could put on a honda civic hx i am currently thinking 17 with 205/40R17 tires...would the y fit on it???

hey. first post here. im from australia. i have 19's on my ej8 coupe as a DD. i have my guards rolled and the inner guard modified, with not plastic lining around the wheel arche. i still have oem shocks. although they are not used because it is so low that it sits on bumpstops the whole way around. not real comfy but its looks so damn sexy :->.

i didnt think the question was what size looks good on his car ..i thought it was a simple question . the biggest ive seen is 20's
but, it was at a car show. there is one company that caters to just honda/acura automotives thats out right now that making luxury rims just for the cars plus the offset l;ooks pretty nice when i find the name i'll let you know

205/40-17 is the right tire. The overal diameter is almost identical and it is only 20mm wider than stock. So as long as you are not 'slammed' and you have the correct offset you should have no rubbing.
If this is to improve performace I would recommend that you get better tires not bigger tires. If this is for looks, well..all the power to you.

ya you can even fit 18" on that coupe.
its more for looks to go that big, but it will fit if thats what you are asking. just get the right offset and width so you wont have problems.
