POOR MAN'S 5 LUG CONVERSION??? ANY IDEAS??? ANY TIPS???
I was just wondering... Has anyone ever attempted the POOR MANS 5 lug conversion...??? If so enlighten me... I'm going to try and do it but I can't seem to find anything... My co-worker was telling me to go get ITR HUBS and press mine out(gsr) and press the ITR hubs in... He said it would fit and then drill my rotors to make a 5lug rotor... Weird but I don't know when I think about it... It just might work haha... As for the rears I'm not sure yet. They shouldn't be as hard as the front is... Well if anyone has any ideas hit this topic up!!!

I don't know about that. How reliable that would be...how much more would you have to pay for a full 5 lug conversion? Might as well do it to save future incidents. But give it a try and update us on what happend.

People redrill there rotors all the time to fit different bolt patterns. I dont see a problem.

there was a thread about this a while back..some one did a write up on how to do the poor man's 5 lug conversion...basically using crv parts and what not. I dont remember the exact details, but I remember it had something to do with the honda crv...I'll try to look for it.
now you say, you seen a ek that slapped CRV hubs on it? what about the REAR? I'm going to do this once I collect some info. I've figured out how i'm going to do the rotors I'm going to just take it to a machine shop to measure the patterns and drill press them. Just wondering about the HUBS right now.

Why do a "poor mans" 5 lug conversion? It seems obvious that you just want the 5 lug look.?
If you want a bad *** factory brake setup, there is no substitution for the ITR conversion. IMO, do it right or don't do it at all.

I've thought about doing the same thing, but realized why? I can/did get a very similiar brake setup without having to change my rims.
from my readings, the wheel bearing on regular integras and type r's are the same. So from search diagrams on acuraparts247, it does look possible with just pressing out the hubs, and putting in 5 lug hubs.
for the rear trailing arm, the only difference seems to be the hub and maybe a bushing. Other then that, the arm is the same. There is a post in the type r froum where Len ordered 3 different trailing arms (type r, & 2 gsr) to measure any difference.
Now i guess you can go the cheaper route, and use redrilled stock brakes. But u can also use rsx or type r parts for the rear without significant modification. You will just need the caliper and rotor. As for the front you can use legend, type r, nsx caliper with a modified bracket, and rotor. I have done the above on 4x100.
I say go for it and find out the cheapest way to go five lug, and do a DETAILED write up on it.
This forum is lacking good techincal conversations and is just filled with flammers and post ******. There are a few helpful people, but that seems to be declining.
edit: link about the rears i mentioned above... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1501531

all these people that are saying dont be cheap buy 5 lug are just mad... hell i would be mad too if i paid the money for type r and than you did it for next to nothing.. i would feel like a fool.
I'm just wanting to do the poor mans to see if it'll work... Cause people say it does and crap some say it doesnt... I mean **** I just want to see one... Hell I'm not being cheap I just want to SEE if its possible. I can go out and buy me a damn 5lug conversion but I'm choosing not to, because I want to be HARDHEADED.. Me working at Honda is BORING so it gives me something to do while we're not busy.. They supply me with 2 lifts in the shop hell I use only 1 for the whole day sometimes 2.. So the 2nd lift is open for my car.. It can stay on the lift as long as it wants cause they dont pay me by the hour, they pay me by LABOR time.. So this is why I'm wanting to do this and theres a asian dude that works with me that says its IMPOSSIBLE!! So i'm doing this to prove his asian *** wrong.. what are those people we call with shiney tail lights and stuff on their cars??? was it " RICE BOY " lol
Well if anybody has any more info post it I want to collect as much info as possible and i'll get on it and i will do a writing on it.
Also dont judge me if you dont know me ight..
I've got part prices.
Itr hubs $89 a piece (fronts)
rotors at spartan import are only $23 a peice.(fronts)
rear rotors are also $23.(weird dont know why their all the same)
white itr wheels $GOT THEM..
pretty cheap from a friend $240 with tires.
so far thats it. so far im at $510
how much is a 5lug converison?? $1500 or so.

You'll need the rear hub and bearing ***'y, these are pricy pieces. You should bite the bullet and get some used or reman front itr calipers and the rear itr calipers as well. Trade in your old calipers for reman ones to make it a bit cheaper. Brakes is what makes the 5 lug more desireable than the 4 lug.
There was some talk in the ITR forum that the GSR or LS rear spindle is not long enough to take the ITR hub and bearing ***'y, please take a picture of the nut if you get everything to fit.

completely safe. you need all 4 itr hubs and the itr trailing arms. redrill the rotors and you're set.
