mid engine crx
You're good at fabrication/welding/drafting I take it?
I see absolutely no reason to do this though. Unless you have $10,000 you are just itching to burn. Soooooo much more performance wise could be done if the engine was just built up and left in its intended place.
p.s. you are describing the complete destruction of a perfectly good CRX, so put the flame suit on.

exactly, i hope you know what your getting urself into, im not one to say what you should do and not do but this is a job, measurments have gotta be exact, a lot of fabrication/welding and yes if u plan on doing such a thing, you better have your plans set and drawn out, another thing have you ever done a swap before at all, what kinda motor setup you plan on doing, prepare or dont do it!

WOW! I toyed with the idea of fabbing mounts to squeeze a VTEC V6 under the hood of my CRX, but that is just insane with it in the back. Either way is too much work for me any way.

thats the point, lol
you can build a wall of plexiglass and daily drive it, you wouldnt need a stereo then!!!

The fastest way to make your crx mid-engine is;
-Take the wiring harness off of your stock engine
-Then wrap that harness around your neck, and hang your self from somthing nice and high up.

If you wreck at ~120+ into a solid barrier it will become mid-engine... just jump out the way right before. Full leathers + pads... helmet too, you don't want to look stupid.
A place local did a NSX motor in a CRX and made it RWD. it only ran 11.8s, big waste of time and money if you ask me considering B series all motor guys are running 11.5s with 240whp.
You want a midengine CRX, buy an MR2 and put a Body Kit on it

Its a great idea; I plan on tackling it in the future with another crx
Just use a b series motor. There's not that much that has to change when you move the motor back about 6'. Just throttle and shift linkages. It'd take a lot of time and you'd need to do some research but the sky's the limit on how complicated you want it.
Mid engine rear drive rules due to traction and weight distribution.
