Please people, do not flame, it's not needed.

To do that, buy a cat back with at 'can' style muffler with no resonator. Or get custom piping with no resonator, and bolt on a generic fart can.

Haha ricer... go with a straight pipe, test pipe, and 421 headers...or just the best APC brand fart cannon you can find.

this guy gave the best advice out of everybody that responded to this thread, and he's an '05 member. must be one of the good few in that year. i'm sure the old schoolers know what i'm talking about when i say this. and you guys wonder why this section of the forum is going down hill...

and to the thread maker, thats not a full exhaust system. probably a universal eBay muffler.

edit: oh yeah read the forum's Stickies (first five threads on the top) before you do anything.
and please Search before you post/ask questions.

Loud doesn't mean strong...you know that, right? Odds are that you can add more HP by using a well designed system that isn't so loud.

If you really want a loud car, the Spoon exhaust and Buddy Club add HP while not worrying about how much noise they make.

But, please, reconsider your goals here. If the car's your daily driver, you will grow weary of the noise.

bingo, the noise will be fine till you have to drive on the highway for an hour and when you get off you can't hear a damn thing. The apex'i N1 is also fairly loud and might not be as raspy as the one in the video... good luck with your project.

If you want it even louder and more raspy run a 2.5" pipe with 1 glasspack muffler.. And keep the stock header,,,,getting an aftermarket header will deepen the noise alittle..But really after a while you are going to say, "what the f*ck did I do that for? "

i have a 4-2-1 header, testpipe/fake cat & a flowmaster hushpower II. on my h22 hatch

its really loud when you get on it & screams when vtec kicks in.
pretty mellow/tolerable when crusing...& no rasp @ all....I get the lift throttle burble/popping but i think that due to the combo of no cat & the hushpower.
but mines kinda on the deeper side cause its an H.

i think there are differences in loud....some sound good some sound like ****.

loud does not always = Rice IMO....
& loud does not always = nice or big gains.

main thing is that it has to be done right.

the buddy club spec2 is nice...
the apexi N1 setup is nice too.
or do a custom setup..but pleas avoid crap from pepboys...like APC, 3ARacing etc...

the one i n that clip is kinda raspy IMO....ricey...ehhhhh maybe.
but it can be tough to get a loud nice sounding exhaust on a D series.

All you really need is one of those fireball style mufflers.

How can you say that? A straight through muffler is a straight through muffler,,doesnt matter if its pepbody,apc,apexi,ebay..whatever,,they all sound the same..like farts..If you took a car with the same piping without resonators and put each of those mufflers on they all sound the same on I-4 motors,,like farts..

Now if you took all those mufflers and put them on pipes with resonators and a cat they sound deep and decent..although still loud,,but good..
