In looking into getting a 600cc bike. Im just curious as to what made you pick the bike that you did? Why Honda, Kawasaki or Yamaha?

I picked honda because I love honda, and I had an Integra and loved every bit of it.
I chose the CBR 600 F4i because it had higher clip ons than the RR and was overall more comfortable, while retaining the sport styling that i wanted.

I choose the Yami over the RR because of hondas uncomfortable seat. And of course the looks. Now I kinda wish I had an rr Whether a person admits it or not the looks play a major role in picking. Pick what you think fits you best.

The main thing is what feels COMFORTABLE to you. If you are buying a bike chances are you will be spending a lot of time on it and you don't want to be uncomfortable. After comfort the looks, integrity of the bike, and the reputation of that bike come into play. I chose the F4i for the same reasons slvrblckf4i did, it is very comfortable but still has the sporty look that i was going for. Just remember pick the bike out for yourself not for other people.

I have never heard a bad review of my bike. The R6 had tranny issues, the gixxer didn't appeal to me and the kawasaki, well it is a Kawaski.

And everyone knows yellow is faster so it was a must.

i hate the styling of gixxers ... 01-03 (and pre 01 as well) look older compared to other 600's of the same years. The newer gixxers, i'm not a fan of the single headlight.

R6 has always been a pretty cool bike, it was always a little different, but i just saw way too many of em.

Kawi ... just not a kawi fan, although i almost **** my pants on a ZX12R

HONDA ... i had RARELY seen the RR around here, only 1 guy in our group had one and i loved it. It's just too freakin' sexy, completely race inspired ... what's not to love.

Past:
'01 R6 - liked the styling, got it at a fair price, handled well, rode the crap out of it and got rid of it because I wanted something new
'91 VFR400 - cool single-sided swingarm, rarity, got it at a REALLY good price
'04 GSXR600 - even trade for the VFR, was set up for the track, wanted the power of a 600 for everyday use, liked the look, and got rid of it because I wanted something new

Present:
'94 NSR250 - fair price, rarity, a definate keepr, liked the styling, single-sided swingarm, street legal 2-stroke, dry clutch, and turns more heads than any other bike I owned

oh and the '89 Yamaha Razz 50 - $400, errand runner, backup ride

I've always like the 919/599 that Honda put out. Plus, when I was growing up in Japan, it was all about the naked bikes (and the dual circular headlights, lol).
Couldn't afford a new 599, plus this was my first bike. So I went with my Suzuki GSF600. Naked, black, looks somewhat like the 599.

Now I want something that weighs less, and with fairings so I dont get my *** kicked by the winds around my way.

kawis tank is too wide and feels wierd

600rr is just too uncomfortable all together

dont like the styling of the gixxer

rsex it was and im glad i did, its the best looking bike between those 4

I picked my Hondas because they were inexpensive and I liked the way they looked. I still <3 my current bike. The GSXR was purchased because it was for sale at the time I was looking for a track bike. I don't have brand loyalty, although you might infer differently from my sig. I just pick what appeals to me.

I thought he was being sarcastic, but from seeing his past posts, he certainly isn't.

the 600RR was to wide for me so it was uncomfortable
the zx-6r had a weird tank that felt uncomfortable
so it was between the r6 and gsxr600
i like the color combo of the r6 better so thats what i bought

Mine came recommended as a good beginner bike, and now I can't really find a good reason to sell it for something different aside from the lack of full fairing. Though the track last weekend definately exploited the lack of power

i recently just bought a used 600RR. I was considering the gixxer, r6, and zx-6r.

i think the zx-6r is the rarest and the r6 is the most common

nothing really bad about the gixxer, i do feel it's better suited for the track, but i've never ridden one before.

I chose the RR because of the overal race inspired chassis, the ease of ridability of Honda, the reliability of Honda, the stunning looks, and the somewhat rare feel of having the bike (i haven't seen too many around).

I know I didn't want something that almost everybody has (R6, zx6r(rr), gsxr, 600rr), generally I don't like to be in the majority, I like to be the oddball How many of the above bikes do you see compared to a RC51?

I was in the market for another twin anyway (non nekkid), and there really is not a whole lot to choose from. I didn't want to have to deal with the maint of a duc, and I didn't really care for the styling of the aprilias at the time. Suzuki was out, didn't like the TLS or TLR or the SV1000. I've wanted an RC since 2001 anyway. Plus it's a Honda!! You can't really go wrong there.

Oh yeah, CE II rode one....albeit heavily modified but still

I bought my GSXR because at the time, i'd only ridden GSXR's but at the dealer i sat on a yamaha and being a bigger guy i didn't like the way it sat, same with the 04' 636 ( my nuts hit the tank) I also made the buy because i love the paint on my GSXR, i love the whole look of the bike, and it came with a steering damper stock. Also because it was so easy to switch to GP shift. and now that i've riden a 05 GSXR 1000 i'm in love so i'm going to do the smart thing and wait untill i get a few track days and more experiance on the 600 before i make a switch to a 1000cc bike.

I personally love my zx6r - it looks great, rides wonderful, more power and torque then any other 600. I went in looking at a RR, but the seat is a plank and was another $1500 more. I got the zx6r for $1500 off MSRP brand new, couldnt pass it up.

From reading, the bike to get is the new 06 R6, but at $9700 its a little pricey. You should also go look at the new Daytona 675 - ive heard wonderful things about it.

My next bike is a Kawasaki zx14 197bhp baby. Lowered with pipes, pc3, and gearing and a few other small things its run a high 8 at like 154mph in the 1/4 - stock motor. muahhaa
