I got a 88 4 door DX everything on it is stock but the guy before me put rear discs on. For some reason when i stop the car will just die.It will only do it at random times while its warmed up.

Also when taking corners ill shift down to 2nd and put on the brakes and once i try accelerating again it wont let me give it gas kinda like the car shut off and then about 5 seconds later it will start going again.

I thought it could be something with the brake booster but I checked it and it seemed to be fine. I got myself a main relay because I was having problems with that earlier. I checked the distributor and everything seems to be working fine with it....

Anyone have an ideas?

dont have an answer but when ur stock motor starts given problems, time to pull it out and begin a SWAP! not worth fixing stock motors especially when there late dual point models... i learned my lesson and finally starting a swap into my 90 civci hatch anyways good luck

Sounds like a vaccum leak..Check all the vacuum lines..

 

if it only happens when cold it sounds like the choke. check vac lines also.

 

check your IAC valve..sounds like its bad..
