is it just not a smooth transition (too much or not enough throttle)?

if not, more explaination please

since its still kinda of a high gear (mathematically)its more easily affected than others if you are not smooth. which might be the reason why you only feel it in second gear and not others even if you use the same technique. Most likely its user error not the bike.

Like rednas said, it's still a high gear and requires a bit of throttle control and a steady hand. Practice makes perfect.
Unless you're saying the bike is bogging, in which case it would be the bike.

What RPM are you shifting at, or does it happen all the time no matter what.

I want to know what RPM you're at in what gear.
Beyond that, again, it's probably just throttle control. Unless you're trying to say that it bogs, in which case, it's the bike.

AGAIN, what RPM is this happening at.
Also, have you checked your chain slack?
My MSF bike's chain was so loose the top nearly touched the bottom. It made for an extremely jerky ride, but once i got into 3rd it was a little more tame.

if you have never lubed your chain it could be that. also when my clutch went out on my daytona it did that but not as extrme as yours sounds. just thought i would give my 2 cents

If it is a fault the way to test is this...

Start of in first shift early to second at 2K open the thottle wide.

Repeat this but next time don't use the clutch on the change up.

If there is a difference you have your problem.
