Default Valve Cover Leak?

now im 95% positive that this is the problem, this accord is basically mint, 97 LX accord 4cyl..

recently ive been noticing a little oil on 3 of the 4 spark plug caps, which means there is oil down below too, i changed my spark plugs today and there wasnt as much oil as i expected but it was a good amount, ive diagnosed this 1 problem and ive come to the conclusion that it must be my valve cover leaking through the gasket, but seeing as theres still that 5% that im unsure of i decided to ask my friends at Honda Tech .. all replies are appreciated, (hoping a gasket is all ill have to fork out money for

Here's what you're dealing with

Parts listings: #1 Gasket set
http://www.hondaautomotivepart...COVER

AND: #19 "O" rings (4)

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...81%29

These require pulling the rocket assembly (which forms part of the Spark Plug Well)
If you don't own a shop manual, now is an excellent time to buy one. During reassembly, you MAY have to readjust the valve lash.

how many miles on it?. I'd just do a valve adjustment and replace the gaskets/grommets/tube seals with new ones at that time.

You can try just changing the seals under the valve cover. But it will probably be the o-rings under the rockerarm assy. The link below has all the information.

PS: there is one thing the link doesn't mention until way too late. You need to back off all the valves before removing the rockerarm assy. Then re-set the valves after changing the o-rings. Have fun.

It's not an expensive job (if you do it yourself) just gaskets and o-rings. But you have to know how to set the valves etc.

its probably the valve cover gasket + the little O rings that go around the spark plug...had the same problem and fixed it recently...about $20.00 for the gaskets...
