Default 1997 f3 Help...

I got a 1997 F3 And I dont have a lot of knowledge of Bike's lol But anyways, Were exactly does the ignition switch run 2? I looked and all the wires seemed to be color coded and i hooked it in to what looks right, But when i plug it in the High beams come on, That cant be right at all, If you would be kind enough to Help id really appreciate it...

The Bike Needs a Little TLC But it was gave to me buy a Friend, I Need a Left Tail Peice, Windscreen, Brake and Clutch Handle, Front Brake Disc, And wire the ignition and it runs it has 37,000 And its a 1997 Not That bad for a 97, and The Biggest thing i need is the transmission worked on I think its the shift fork, Will shift but wont go past 2nd,

Im rebuilding the bike b/c My Sister always wonted one and she died in 2000 (20 Yrs Old) So any help on technical stuff would greatly, Greatly Be appreciated...

red comes from the battery/start relay. red/black goes to power lights and ignition. and blue/orange? goes to fuse box and then on to the fan.

there should be a plug up by the front forks. for the ignition to plug into.

the low beam should stay on all the time except for when the starter is pressed.

I Checked all those wire's and nothing happened, I May have something hooked up wrong or something, I got kinda irritated and put all the plastic's back on and put it out by the shop, I am gonna try and get a buddy to come look at it since it his old bike, Ima copy down what you wrote a hopefully i get it started, Thanks I guess it take's time lol,

Though it's a bit late, sorry about your sister.

I'm no help when it comes to electrical stuff, but I believe you can d/l the service manual somewhere. If not, PM me your address, and I will send you a copy of the service manual.

I Downloaded the manual and nothing even came up, After i dl'ed it i opened it and it was empty, i Got pissed and Forgot all about it, Once I Sell my Eclipse all my money is going into the bike, I Have to go talk to a Guy today at 3:40 about getting my tansmission done, I am looking to buy some gear also, Once i get the money, Thanx for your help Guy's Atleast this forum aint as bad about bashing NooB's I also wanna Price some transmission gear's B/c i hear if the F3 is anything like the R1 it probably Tore up My Gears also, Anyone know if thats true?

Judging from the condition of your bike, I'd say your tranny is FUBAR. Otherwise, when well-maintained, the F3 is practically bulletproof.

But don't get into a gunfight.

look under the gas tank, there are connections there and im pretty sure one of them is for the ignition
