Default JE Piston skirt to Cyl Wall Clearance?

So I've been told that JE pistons expand when they warm up. With that said, is it ideal for JE's to be able to move around a little bit in the cylinder when they're cold (just holding the piston by hand)? If so.. how much should they be able to move around? Thanks.

I would suggest calling JE up and asking them. I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine that already had JEs in em b4. I've asked them many questions and they are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

when you buy JE (or any forged piston for that matter) they come with a spec sheet with a recommended minimum piston to wall clearance.

ALL forged pistons will require looser piston to wall clearance than factory cast pistons.

That's what I figured.. thanks. When I bought these, I bought them used and the guy didn't have the spec sheet with them. I suppose I oughta call JE and have them send me a new spec sheet. Thanks again.

The thing about calling JE is, everytime I call them, the guy I talk to seems pretty rude and has a "Dumbass. I know more than you and you are stupid." kind of attitude, or at least he comes off that way.
