On my beater 91 ef sedan dual-point the oil light just came on and stayed on today.I checked the oil,FULL.I checked the oil pressure switch wires and they are on.Could it be the pickup tube screen or oil pump? The car does not take any oil and I drove it about 20 miles today.I didn't care beacause it's my beater.I have owned like 15 hondas and never had this happen ever.I would like some help because I really don't want to play the guessing game because the car is not worth it to me.But I would like to keep her around if possible though.I only have 190 bucks in her!!!!.155,000 miles on it also.Any help would be great.
the oil light is a oil pressure warning. it may just be that your pickup tube or screen is clogged or your pump may be bad just like you said. or it could be a bad sensor. driving it without sufficent oil pressure could do damage to your top end, so to drive it far would be risking getting stranded someplace. if its just the sensor you could probably find one at a junkyard. if not, it sounds like you may not want to pay to get it fixed.

Yea, I guess I try the sensor first(being the easiest).I really don't want to put a pump on it.I guess I could pull the pan and check the screen.(Good thing I work at a Honda/japaneese salvage shop!!!!!.Thanks for the suggestions.
