JDM Type R Conversion
what should i do, i got a fiber glass type r kit, and im getting 18" rims, what should i do if my rims rub the fender.......i cant roll them out cause its made out of fiber glass...????
Don't get 18's for your Teg... 17's at the most but I have heard 16's are best for street/race. Why get 18's if you know it's gonna mess up your new JDM bumper? If you're spending all that cash to get it, you might as well protect it.
hey can you tell me where you got the kit from and how does it fit.
I got the front clip (cut at the fenders w/ lights) from a salvage yard for 900 bucks
All I need is the fenders.
How do yours fit?

Hey fujitsuten,
I did the JDM conversion on my ITR with a Mugen bumper 2 years ago. I found metal fenders so now I have had the fiberglass fenders sitting in my garage for the last three years
If you want, I can give them to you for cheap!! BTW, where did you get your conversion from locally? At Lucky Star Japanese Auto Parts?

if the offsett is wrong then have the fenders trimmed, fiberglass is easy to cut, have them do it before they paint. or if your determined to keep the rims and that doesnt do it for ya, look into having the rim shaved

the only time that youre going to runb the fender is when your making a turn, if the 18's dont rub on the fender, they are ging to rub on the inside. youll know what im talking about if youre too low. i was lowered on neuspeeds w tokiko adj shocks. this is what i recommend as your solution.
dont lower you car that much.
the BIG con about fiber glass fenders, they break very easily if you make a turn too hard and your tire rubs up against them, they spider web when your front scrapes on the ground.
well..all this i can speak from experience. i once had fiber glass fender for 3 weeks and ran into all these problems.

I had 18"s on my teg, they were 215/35 R18's and I almost never rubbed. I would take my car to the canyons and run it pretty hard with no rubbing. Coincedentally, I also have fiberglass fenders and I havent had any problems with them. You may need to remove your fender liner though.
As long as your car isnt slammed, you should be okay. My teg is lowered with the Tein's S Tech springs, nice drop and plenty of room for 18's.
