As the subject states... When i'm in gear and gassing i hear rattling, because its in gear i am pinpointing either clutch, the mounting assemblies of clutch/trans, or the trans itself. It really isn't "grinding" but it sure is rattling like crazy. I don't feel like i'm falling out of gear or anything, its just a scary noise. Is there anything I can test? I am planning on just fitting in a B-series tranny with B16A2 soon, i mean if this isn't a quick or reusable fix i might as well start the swap a little ... early

the engine itself is a '97 D16 which works well, when i hold clutch pedal in and rev it sounds fine. when i sit in neutral w/o pushing in clutch i hear the rattling again if i rev a little high (i have no tach) i dunno if thats enough description but ty guys!~

exhaust system
throw out bearing
any other lose component that you may have in the engine bay...

 

thanks, but the fact that it only comes into play when "in gear" does that rule any of these out?
