Seriously, it's not like it's a race car and it needs a little downforce or anything. *Shrug*

 

Actually, I remember watching one of the BTCC broadcasts last year, and the announcer was saying that the wings on these cars are not really all that functional - but the series mandates them so the fan base can more readily indetify them as "race cars"...

Seems to me that these race teams know a whole lot more than we do. I don't think that they would use these parts if they didn't serve some type of purpose.

If only the front end was a little more pronounced. That's my only gripe.

 

Well aero's wings and down force don't really play a part in races unless your going over 70+mph a fair amount of time. On some road courses in the BTCC there not going fast enough but there are some tracks where they will be doing well over 100mph so down force would be needed. On stubby car's atleast my CRX tends to get tail wiggle at high speed above 70mph so i could see the benfit on having a wing.

Was at Brands Hatch yesterday, Easter monday and this thing came 5th in the main event (the 25 lap race). Not bad for 1st event. In the 1st race which was 15 laps it got sandwiched between 2 cars on the 1st bend and the left headlight and the rear bumper (right hand side)) got damaged. The bumper was fouling the left rear tyre so it came into the pits and they just ripped the bumper off. Sent it back out to continue a lap down, too late it had too much damage and had to retire. In all there were 3 CTR's racing, 2 like this and a private entry.
