Dirty oil

So heres the story, I have a 98 sh. My check engine light is coming on and reading a fuel code. My car guy checks out the car and notices oil leaking from the cam seal so i decide a tune up. He changes the seal plugs and wires. He checks my o2 sensor and it is bad. Three days later i notice my car running rough at low rpms, and i check my oil and its filthy and smells like gas. So i decide to get that sensor fixed and thats why they thought there was minor gas due to that sensor. So they fix the o2 and give me a fresh oil change and changed my plugs again because the new ones were misfiring. Car running like normal again. The check engine lights still on and my oil is looking dirty again three days after the oil chnage and o2. Please does anyone have any ideas at all.
the only thing i can think of that would cause fuel to get into your oil would be ring blow-by. which means your rings are totally fucked. do a wet and dry compression check
do a compression test like previously said. that should tell you if you are safe to drive it for 7 hours straight. if your test comes out good then you should be ok to drive it, but you should get that fixed because bad oil can seriously mess up your engine.

oil gets dark whe nits been used for a long time, or if it gets exposed to the combustoin. if you had a leaking gasket, you would be dripping oil everywhere and your motor would be shiny from oil, no dort would be going into the motor. i don't think feul is getting mixed in with your oil. the feul would have to go into the combustion chamber and somehow not get cought up in the combustion and make it past the piston rings. you probably need to rebuild your motor or get a new one. my friend got an obd-2 motor for like $600 with about 40k miles on it. like i said, a compression check will tell you if your piston rings are messed up or not. any tune-up shop should have the tools to do this and should cost no more than $50 (depends on what they charge for labor/hour and how fast they will to do it), or you could buy them from a auto parts store.
I say buy the compression tester for about the same price that you'd get it done at a shop for. Then you never have to spend that much again when you need it done! Sounds like a leak somwhere.. hah sorry not more helpful
Yep. Do a compression test - while your oil cap is open. See if air or is coming out of there. Or you can get a gas analyzer and hold it above the oil inlet to see if it detecs gas. just another option.
