Default anybody else with biast ford friends?

Alright, I know Honda can be pretty biased, and obviously you will be biased towards your own car. But, one of my friends with a zx2 is rediculous. He recently sent me a post from the teamzx2.com where most of them were defending the zx2 as being "stock for stock a drivers race with a type r" (HE AGREED WITH THIS!). Don't get me wrong, I have respect for all cars, but why does it seem as though ford is extremely biased? My friend with the zx2 was rediculous and made an excuse every time we raced and I won. ehhhh, forums can get pretty annoying.

For one, he may just be a ******* moron. I beat ZX2's alot also.

Nothing special to them.

Just tell him at least your car doesn't look like a rolling bean.

hahaha exactly. I tell him that. he thinks they're better quality cars too. I almost died when I heard this. He has spent tons of money on his car. I beat him by 2 cars in the 1/8 mile with just i/h/e. i mean come on, if i can beat him, than a type r can destroy him. the funny thing is, the guys that defended the type r said something like "the type r is faster and will beat a stock zx2, but in defense our cars look sooo much better". ehhhhhhh!

I concur, but back to the subject, they actually, think....a damn ugly car like that looks better than a Integra.

WOW.
Focus enthusiasts are becoming the new ricer crowd.

Yes it's true, i'll try and find the link so people dont call bs. it's the zx2 which is the escort, not the zx3 focus... i didn't understand your last comment...

As a mechinc I can vouch that an Integra is a WAAY better built car. And this is no biased opinion. I actually worked on an escort today that (such as all escorts and focuses) had to have the rotors tossed, and new ones installed (after 45K). No room for machining. Everyone I've ever driven is under-powered as hell, and I actually caught myself today asking why anyone would drive one of those when I was on a test drive (making sure my brakes I just did didn't squeak).

Escorts and Focuses are the same **** in a different pile.

Funny you mention that...My integra just had the OEM brake pads on the rear replaced for the first time at 86,000 miles, calipers came off fine no seizures or anything....and machined both front and rear rotors at the same time.... Fords are junk, simple as that

I've worked on and driven many Focus/Escorts. I worked on two today. And as a mechanic, the Integra is a much better car. The cars I work on average about 55,000-80,000 miles, and I write up estimates for an average of about 800 for each one. Most of them need ball-joints, tie rod ends, brakes, s-belts, and fluid flushes. Most hondas I work on have an average of 110000 miles on them, and most of the time, I can't find anything wrong with exception of fluid flushes. I am not a crooked mechanic either. I don't try to sell the customer anything they don't need, I believe that is wrong. Hondas in general are the better of almost all vehicles. The best put together vehicles in my opinion are Honda, Toyota, and Nissan.

basically couldnt have summed it up better myself.... all we ever really repair on hondas is exhausts, and basic routine maintenence, i.e. timing belts, flushed, tune-ups, drive belts, etc.

Ford almost ALWAYS have junk *** front-ends.

his first was the old old escort... which he had chrome hub caps on. yes, i know. he thought it was quick... he told me something like "my old escort was pretty quick, then i was in the market for something faster, test drove the zx2, and couldnt believe the quickness" he bought it new for like 9 grand. why ever spend 9 grand on that??? not saying he should get a honda, but jesus... a 240? vr6? or, i even hate to say it, a 99+ mustang? (since he loves fords). i dont understand reasoning sometimes. hes at about 78K miles and his car is toast. its been sitting for 3/4 of a year. no mechanic can figure out the problem. he still belives the zx2 is more reliable than the gsr. or any honda for that matter!
