Default 94 GSR Tranny Options?

Hello Guys new here, my buddy has a 94 GSR with a bad tranny that he got for cheap. Currently we're pondering what other options he has for a tranny. If Im correct the tranny it currently has is a hydraulic right? Can he use a tranny from a 93 GSR YS1 or a 99-00 civic si tranny? Please let me know what yall know of all options that he may have, or are rebuilds good on GSR's? thanks in advance!

u can use a cable tranny with a conversion kit. any b-series tranny will work as long as it's hydro if u dont get the kit
