King Motorsports modification to Mugen H22A header?
I ordered a Mugen header for my 97 SH and never got a tracking number, so I called them for it. They said it had not shipped yet because the header had to be modified to fit a USDM Prelude. Does anyone know what has to be done to the header? I was under the assumption that Mugen made direct-fit parts...
Thanks
Thanks
have no ******* clue what needs to be modified. I think they just might be out of stock. I guess maybe the down pipe could be in a slightly different location?..........maybe the flange for the cat is different?..........

I ordered the header last Monday (9 days ago). Is this the normal amount of time to wait for an item that I was told was in stock the day I ordered it? I mean, they haven't even sent it out yet.
Hey folks - this is Clayton from King Motorsports. I took Tony's order for the header, and I made a mistake when I spoke to him. I knew the base model header had to be modified, but I did not think that the modification applied to the SH header - again it was my mistake.
Now on to the modification. There are three things that are different between the US and Japanese Preludes.
SH Differences:
#1 - the bolt center is smaller on the US catalytic converter, therefore we have to slot the flange on the Mugen header by 1mm for each bolt hole.
Base Model Differences:
#1 - same as above the - bolt centers need to be slotted
#2 - the location of the flange must be moved forward to accomodate the longer catalytic converter
#3 - becuase of the length difference a specially made hanger bracket is fabricated and included with the kit.
FOR THE RECORD - WE DO NOT SUPPLY OUR CUSTOMERS WITH BS INFORMATION IN ORDER TO "BUY TIME".

After re-reading my earlier post, I feel the need to clarify that I wasn't trying to bash King Motosports, I simply didn't know King had to slot the flange at the collector. Props to Clayton @ King for calling to inform me of this.
Now we know!
P.S. Hey Weatherman...no forecast for Bumf ck, USA?

Yeah. I see the high being 70 degrees - chance of diarrhea. That food coloring in your purple fanta will turn your poop into a bright green color. Later tonight, i see your *** burning from 911 hot wings from hooters. And it might feel like needles are coming out from chewing on sun flower seeds without spitting out the shell. Good luck.
Yeesh, I think I'll stay in tonight...sounds like bad weather! Thanks, Weatherman!
I think we've gone WAAAAY off topic. It's been fun kids, signing off now.
Thanks again to Clayton for the obscure bit of knowledge regarding the Mugen H22 header.
