Default Street/Slicks Tires!

Ok, so I searched a bit and didnt find this topic, at least in the EF forum I didnt, anyway, I was wondering what type of tires you guys have tried out and have been proven worthy, and which ones have sucked for street use, and weekend track use, I'm looking for some good grip at the track, and hopefully they last a while on the street also. If that's not possible, then what are some good track only tires that arent too expensive? Currently I'm running 195/50/15 on some 15x6 rims Yokohama AVS ES100's and I like them for street use, they still have a while to go on the thread, but I've never tested them at the track, but I'll probably do that this spring though. Any feedback on those tires?

nitto 555r's they are drag radials that hookup great on launch on the street or strip but the bad is they have a life of like 15000 miles, so unless you like changing tires a couple times a week id go with the nitto neogen's

You're looking for a compromise and you're just going to get compromised performance in both areas.

Your best bet is to just keep your Yokos for the street and buy some dedicated competition tires. I assume you still have your stock 14" wheels? Even if you don't people are practically giving them away. A 14" slick is better than a 15" street/comp hybrid.
For an economical slick look at the Kumho ECSTA V710 in something like a 195-55-14.

If you're going to insist on a tire that can perform dual duty, look at the Toyo T1-R.

I would agree a good street tire and a real slick are 2 differnt levels.
I run some 20 M&H slicks for 1/4
and 195/50R15 bridgestone potenzea re750s daily.

I see, so one other thing, how do sizes of slick tires affect your launch? I mean, bigger tires could be better right? Or is that just not always true? I've seen some slicks that look like they dont have enough air in them, I figure it's for more grip, or do they just look normal like that? I dont know much about slicks
