Race season starts woohoo
This weekend was the shakedown for the BSB in two weeks. First time that all the new mechanics have been together with the riders. The results didn't really matter although its always good to win! The paddock love to take a scalp from teams like us, gives them kudos.
Anyway here's the pics.
Brands Hatch is a really cool track. The drop down the hill into Druids is awesome and always gives you a buzz.

The back part of the circuit is just as tricky, fast flowing and a great riders circuit.

New brakes on trial this year, seem to be pretty good so far. Way cheaper than Brembo and once the teething issues have been ironed I think we have a winner.

New tool kits for everyone, nice.

There's 'the man' along with 'Ferret' and Britains newest and gingerst MotoGP rider Bradley Smith whi rode for the team last year in some of the rounds. Those of you who follow MotoGP watch the 125 class, seriously close racing.

Overall went well. The rider I am working with is very softly spoken and polite kid...who turns into a hard b*stard on the track. Extremely smooth style and pace in massive reserves. He cleared off in the first race before crashing. It was so cold over the weekend, grip was compromised all round. However this didn't stop lap records being matched which was surprising to all of us. Second race he cleared off again and this time no mistakes. #4 Dan Linfoot.

As for the rest of the team Ferret had some handling issues which prevented him from competing properly although he set a PB in practice, Ben put in some strong times and was top 5 all weekend and Bling had a couple of minor issues and didn't finish.
So its onwards and upwards for two weeks time for racing proper.

Some of the bikes have the ram air (?) scoop, but some do not. What's the purpose of that (having it and not)?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The scoop on that bike came about when it got totalled. The headstock was re-engineered with a big hole in the middle to allow the snorkel to fit. It does give a gain but it does cost to do the mod. All the bikes have intakes over the rad anyway and the airflow is pretty good off the front end. As the bike goes faster the airboxes pressurize and this forces more fuel into the cylinder. Thats the theory.
It sounds nice as well
