Default Vibrations From Shifter

I have an ek hatch with a d16y7 that has alot of vibration coming through the shifter, its most noticable at idle and fades away some as I go higher in the RPM's. It doesn't matter whether or not I am in gear, it still does the same thing.

Second question is the shifter moves back as I accelerate when in gear and then snaps foward when I release the gas pedal.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

a little vibration is ok just look around the shifter and the linkage most of the time its just somthing easy.

Your shifter is directly attached to your engine. So when all of a suden you apply torque (hit the gas) the engine moves in the engine bay, your shifter will also. You might have bad motor mounts or a sloppy linkage. Although I really wouldn't worry unless it's a lot of movement.

Ok thanks guys. This is my first Honda (had VR6's before) so I am still getting used to the changes.

well the differences are that a honda engine will work all the time where as a vr6....no so much. However a VR6 does have something called torque. As a honda owner you will now forget about the existance of any such thing...lol

Cheers.

Sounds like your rear mount is broken to me. Get under there and fix it!

on my EJ8 it does the same thing....even while its in gear sometimes it vibrates....i means its not annoying but its there....check your bolts...also you can get bushings too...pretty sure that should solve the problem...my friend has the bushings on his and it shifts better and doesn't vibrate...

Tighten up your shift linkage. You probably have worn bushings.
