ok so my engine's out and i drain my transmission fluid. it's out so i can install my lsd. (btw its a 92 civic ex/si tranny) but i go to napa to get transmission fluid and they say it just uses motor oil... 10w30 motor oil. so i just bought 2 quarts of royal purple 10w30. is napa right? havent worked w/ transmissions before

 

it works. the preferred stuff is honda mtf available at the honda dealer tho.

 

how much $ ?

 

$6 each and you need 2 so $12 bucks

 

off hand i dont remember exact price but its cheap enough to just buy less than 40 for 2 qt

 

does that work if u have an lsd in the tranny?

(aftermarket OBX lsd)

i dont think using synthetic is that good of an idea from what i heard

i think using synthetic 10-30 is safe for Honda Trannys im told

 

i dont know cause i was going to put synthetic in my tranny but my mechanic said not.. so i just took the time to go to honda to buy the mtf its about the same price as the royal purple..
