Rather than use Turbo (absolutely useless on a 4cyl) muffler, determine how much room you've got in the rear for a muffler and look for a replacement muffler for something like a 454 CK30 Chevy pickup. It will have the internal baffling and volume not to be restrictive, but should be enough for passing the 83db noise limit law. That way you can scoot around all you want without sounding like a bumble bee on steroids

I'm well aware of that. The advent of the "Turbo" Muffler was back in the '70's, with the introduction of the first......Turbo's. They started as oversized OEM Mufflers with modified baffling for less restriction; and they were more than sufficient for their intended purpose because the installation of a Turbe actually made the exhaust easier to quiet.
The problem came up when Rodney Road Racers started putting these on standard N/A Cars where it was discovered that these Mufflers were just one step removed from GlassPacks with regards to noise.
And if you're wondering if they're still around... indeed they are. Everyone from Arvin to Maremont and everyone and his mother offer "turbo" Mufflers.

It can vary with local municiple codes. The sound level on the Federal level (Interstates) is 88db for all motorized vehicles. You'll find it can vary between zones (IE: Zoned Commercial, as opposed to Residential). In the Northeast, most cities and towns have noise ordinance laws restricting it to 83db (due to population density). It's quite possible that in some rural areas the db level could be higher (Really, who are you going to disturb> Cows??)

i'd stay away from Invidia, i hear they are loud.</TD></TR></TABLE>
you have no idea what you talking about right?
if you stick a WS(which have two big resonator), it will rub sh-t load of power due to back pressure, yes they are quiet and nice for NA but for FI, they don't offer much to it.
my advice would be running one resonator, it really doesnt matter where you put it, but be advice it will some what noticeable in noise if you running a test pipe(easy5-10 whp for boost)
1)run a striaght piping(2.5inch up) and put a oem muffler in the back, pick something from domestic, pick something light and single muffler design. A LS1 stock muffler should be enough for you. paint it black most cop couldn't tell.
2)run a resonator under the car and have piping run to the end.
Like how most of the 4.9 mustang owner do.

to be honest, i don't like Bam but i used to keep seeing HIM pop up on the show so i gave them a listen. afterwards i liked the band, but not because of Bam, because of the music. so call it what you want but i found out about HIM through Viva La Bam. hate it or love it, that's my story and i'm sticking to it. other than that i'm a die hard HIM fan, got limited editions and imports, merch, and singles. yes, i'm a lil fanboy for HIM, oh well. it still pisses me off when people call the heartagram the Bam sign.

The RS*R ExMag system utilizes a 2 1/2' pipe and an OEM style Muffler. On a 4cyl N/A it's arguably the quietest system out there.
In leu of the fact of the Turbo installation, he might start seeing some backpressure issues; and would have to start futzing with the wastegate controls.
It MAY work out fine, and I'd be curious to find out - but not at my expense

I haven't seen it yet, but do you think it's quiet? I'm also looking for a new exhaust quiet enough not to bother the police and was thinking of going turbo.
