Default Bike vs. Bike vs. Bike (My next)

Looked at a few bikes today.

1. 2001 F4i, silver/black
*lots of extras
*stupid fast
*Full exh/PCM
*sprockets/chain
*neat Knight Rider-style tail light
*aftermarket pegs and bar ends
*Petal-style rotors
*polished wheels
*Chrome frame sliders
*$5400 quoted price

2. 2003 R6, Silver/Black
*Full exh/PCM (VERY dinged-up Akrapovic can)
*some little cosmetic issues (broken pegs/brake handles on right side like my old R6, obviously been down on both sides)
*Quoted price $4950

Any insights? The CBR was about as fast as my 05 R6, and shifted stupid fast. Didn't ride the R6.

I am thinking of trying to get a little wiggle room on the CBR. It was a little more special, a little more comfy, and fast as all hell.

I liked the Ducati I looked at the other day, but the asking price was more than $1000 over the ones I looked at today. Figured I'd throw this up to see what everyone thought.

I Hate to Admit it, But I think the R6 would be the best choice. It has a Huge backing and many used parts at great prices!

had that exact year/color r6. loved every minute on it and every minute lookin at it.

edit - definitly try to get that price down though. i got mine, tipped from a stand still, very minimal damage for $5k.

Wow. I'm surprised at these results. I was partial to the F4i myself.

F4i.

I wouldn't trust the R6 that's been down on both sides. But that's just me.

I went with the F4i also. I wouldn't trust the R6 who know how many times it's been dropped.

almost sounds like you're leaning towards the cbr already.

as much as i like r6's, the cbr sounds like the best choice. and you can use that extra $1k under the ducati just in case what happened to your last r6 happens to this next bike.

F4i.

You kinda answered the question yourself!

Tons of go-fast parts and cosmetic goodies, and very good condition for only $450 more.

Plus, I'm bias to the F4i

I dont know much about F4i's but I know that parts for Yamis are generally cheaper. For the price of the F4i you could get a nice look 600rr.

I think the f4i is overpriced, ive looked at some 02-03 in the area for arould 4-5k.

But get whatever u like best

Get the F4i, everyone and their mom has an R6, even more so than F4i's. Do it, really.

I've been looking and looking, where do you guys find rr's for that price? I'm looking at an '01 F4i and the guy wants $5300, which I think is way too much. But very clean bike.

OP, I'd go with the cleanest one. I wonder how much maintenance is for the Ducati. I think those bikes look gorgeous, but I dont think there's passenger room on those, if that's an issue for you.

My vote is for the F4i. Maybe because that's what I ride
I love it though. Plenty fast, handles great, and it's comfortable enough for me to go touring on it.

5400 seems like he's trying to get money back for his parts. And if you're willing to pay for the parts (i.e. you would have bought them anyway) then it's not a big deal, but i see 03s going for that price. By the way, silver/black is the best color

I got my 03 with 5900 miles for 6300 dollars. It came with the Yoshi rs-3 can, undertail kit, corbin seat, flush mounts, and a leather tank bra. I was willing to pay a little more over blue book because it had lower miles than others, and it came with everything i would have done anyways.

Difference is this one's has been down at 35 and still has rashed plastics on it. I'd rather have an immaculate F4i than a beat to **** RR.

where are you located, price on the f4 seems slightly high(wiggle room ) I would trust a bike that has been down hard either, unles it was a bike that I could not live without. Keep in mind what type of riding you are going to be doing.

Out of the choices you listed I would go with the F4i, but the price does seem kinda high. What is the mileage on the F4i?
