Default 00' stock alarm ?

I am thinking of buying a 2000 GS-R and was woundering how good the stock arlarm is because if i get it, i dont have a garage to park it in and would have to park it on the street. is it better or worse than the aftermarket ones? how good is the overall security of the car? and what does the vehicle immobilizer theft-deterrent system do?

stock alarms are not as good as after market alarm in most cases be cause they do not monitor as much due to fewer sensors

my dad has the stock one and i got the aftermarket one they both appear to be the same, it's always good to install some of ur own security options like that clutch club thing fuel kill ignition kill etc.. if u have the extra money a aftermaket one is better cause u can get the pager one.

i have a 2000 gsr.....stock alarm only honk the horn when doors are open...there is no shock sensor or any other features.....a good aftermarket alarm with a clutch club should do it.....no need for kill switch if keeping the original ecu...the 99-01 models are built with the anti-theft immobilzer....this means that without the specific key for the car....the fuel pump won't start....the specific key has a built in chip with codes to match the ecu.....but still...be sure to have the SHOTGUN ready.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they will bring a ECU from a 98 gsr and just bypass the immobilizer. So yes, you should have a kill switch also.
