Honda MTF will work just fine, but it will brake down faster than the Amsoil.
Thats when you will be able to tell the difference between Honda MTF or aftermarket MTF (Amsoil or others)

I really don't think straight Honda MTF is the best stuff you can use. I always here people saying they get fantastic results with a mix of the HOnda MTF and some of the GM Synchromax fluid--also I have heard mixed reviews about the Redline MTF--heard great things about Amsoil's Honda compatible fluid, and also Royal Purple's Honda compatible fluid.
thats why I allways recomend

It works verry well. I use it in all my transmission. I got some for a buddy of mine that had problems with a used trany he got for his K swap, and he was one of those non belivers, untill he used it.

this stuff is
honda mtf shears down fast, and is okay if you change it out every/every other oil change.

on my new tranny I ran it with Honda MTF for the first 1000 miles to break it in, then I switched in pennzoil synchromesh...this resulted in much improved shifting...smooth like butter

that is what i would have expected as well. about half a bottle was needed to top it off.
probably added at the dealer or something. It was bought from a Honda dealer that the business had a 15 year relationship with.

the axle holes are about the same level as the fill hole in the tranny. so if you don't tip the trany too much, then you will still have plenty of fluid in there.
I just don't know, how you would know what kind of fluid its in there???

Well as far as shipping them (we do this everyday) even plugging doesn't stop them from leaking as it is never as complete as an axle going through it....Customers will send core transmissions that are not completely drained and they leak...This presents a hazardous waste situation and creates a huge problem...I am sure that Honda does not ship transmissions filled with fluid as this is transportation of a hazardous waste that is not in sealed device. I have never...ever..ever recieved a brand new transmission from Honda (we buy about 6-8 new trans a month) with fluid in it in the 4 years of our existence...Same goes with our automatic side. Now if the dealership you buy from does this as a nice gesture...that may be the case

There is no such thing as not tipping in the shipping world or "this side up"
