Ok so I just bought an 86 civic and it runs terrible. It starts hard, but it does idle...sometimes.I have also noticed an extreme loss of power. The car has had a compression test, and cylinders 2 and 3 are bad, which leads me toward a head gasket. The thing is there is no oil in the coolant or vice versa. It also seems to run worse when it warms up. My one buddy told me it needed a valve job, but would that cause the symptoms I described? New dizzy, plugs, wires, maybe more. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Start with a leakdown test. You won't get anywhere by changing plugs wires etc on an engine with no compression.
