Wheel damaged by pot hole can i get the city to pay for it?
So theirs this road in my town that has like 8 pot holes ranging from 2-4 inches deep and i hit one of the 8 pot holes at night totally bending the lip on my wheel. So i was wondering can the city pay for my wheel or is this just a ridiculous question?
a friend of mine got the city to pay for a bent rim. there were unmarked potholes that were in the process of being repaired. the whole thing with her was that they had all their construction equipment there and didnt have signs out that said to slow down. she hit it at night as well.
in your case, since they were just random pot holes, who knows. youre prolly sol. which would suck. good luck man.

You can claim, but get a load of photographs of the pot holes with surrounding areas and any witness name /address, it will make your claim harder for them to dispute. --good luck.

I tried to do this when I dented/scraped my mugen header on the freeway because of a huge ditch. I got denied and wasted a bunch of time researching it. You can try, but damage in some cities has to be above a certain amount for you to even file a claim.
A friend of mine with a G35 bent a rim on a pothole. The city payed, but they payed for the price of a stock wheel, not the one that was on there.

yes u can. but itll take a while. lots of red tape. theres actually laws in the books that deal with damage to and from city crap. for example when my mom wrecked her car and hit a rock wall and the city actually tried to get money from her to damages received by the other "party" (the rock wall). so i dont see why they wont. just gunna be a long road b4 they pay you
i would think that they would argue that you should not have after market wheels in the first place... also that if u had stocks they wouldnt of gotten bent...goodluck
