has anyone here done a JDM swap and have gotten it bar'd and made it legal, i really wanna put the prelude type s engine in but im gettin many mixed signals still

 

put it in, make sure it runs, and your good. btw we have this feature called search, use it

 

very very difficult and costly.

not worth it in my opinion. just do the swap and find a place that will pass you w/ smog like how everyone else does it.

 

Or move to a state without the emissions testing.

Actually..... In California, I understand, it isn't just passing emissions, but also about getting the car re-certified.
On the (Y)east Coast, it's more a "what the hell do we care" because who's air will 'we' pollute? A few miles of airspace for the Seagulls over the North Atlantic?
But in California, it can get to be a real problem. Anyone who lives in Palos Verdes or flys out of LAX can attest to looking towards Los Angeles and seeing nothing but a green haze laying over the city. It used to be if you drove from Seal Beach to LA, your eye's would start stinging.
Being a car enthusiast in California is a tough nut to break. It's most ironic since most of the aftermarket industry is located in.........California.
