has anyone here done a JDM swap and have gotten it bar'd and made it legal, i really wanna put the prelude type s engine in but im gettin many mixed signals still

Actually..... In California, I understand, it isn't just passing emissions, but also about getting the car re-certified.
On the (Y)east Coast, it's more a "what the hell do we care" because who's air will 'we' pollute? A few miles of airspace for the Seagulls over the North Atlantic?
But in California, it can get to be a real problem. Anyone who lives in Palos Verdes or flys out of LAX can attest to looking towards Los Angeles and seeing nothing but a green haze laying over the city. It used to be if you drove from Seal Beach to LA, your eye's would start stinging.
Being a car enthusiast in California is a tough nut to break. It's most ironic since most of the aftermarket industry is located in.........California.
