Whos the better breed?
I don't think this poll is going to establish anything.
Most people probably really haven't experienced both dirt and pavement to their full potential and therefore are just going to vote for the one they "think" they enjoy the most.
I did not vote. I love my CBR, but its all I've really experienced. So who am I to say which one is more fun?
I had a 50cc dirt bike when I was like 12...it scared the **** outta me and I didn't ride it much, haha. God I'm a *****. I had potential to be some bad *** biker dude with my dad's support, but I never showed much interest because the first time on the bike I popped the clutch, wheelied the bitch, landed it, almost ran into a sewer, swerved and almost ran into the sewer on the other side of the street, killed it, parked it and went back inside, hahahaha. All in about 5 seconds.

Both for me. All the skills I picked up from the dirt I applied to riding a streetbike, allbeit that some of them are bad habits. I think having motocross/dirtbiking experience lets you become comfortable on a bike an aquire the skills you need before adding in traffic etc.
stupid question imo. two completely different monsters. Only advantage I see is you can ride dirt at a younger age which gives someone the advantage of at least being familiar with a motorcycle unlike someone who goes straight to asphalt...

no. i never rode dirt. I did asphalt starting last year. Most dirt bike riders I know have a better feel for the bike at first and can pop wheelies but I wouldn't say there's any other advantage to doing dirt before asphalt or vice versa. Or saying one is better then the other

If you have never rode dirt and only have ridden asphault how would you know that riding dirt doesnt give an advantage? Other than popping wheelies. Racing dirt gives you a feel for competition, its cheaper, you learn bike control, race tactics. You learn how to think in a race situation thats not at 60+MPH.

christ your dense. I said this is a stupid question. I see advantages to dirt because you can start earlier. But imo they're two diff things and saying which is better is retarded just like this whole thread
