Short Shift Kit-SEARCHED
im pretty much a noob so sorry if this is stupid. i have a 01 prelude and im looking for a short shift kit. im having trouble finding what i want. well actually im not sure what im looking at. can anyone tell me the difference between a short shift kit and an adaptor? ive found a couple of both can anyone recommend anything? does anyone have some pics? to the people that have them, do you like them? thanks for all your help.
if you take the center console off your car, you will see 2 shift cables that connect to your shift arm (the metal shaft that your shift **** and shift boot cover. if you buy an adaptor short shift kit, you will recieve a little piece of metal that will relocate one of the shift cables a little higher. if you buy an actual full shift kit, you will replace the shift arm and mounting piece. the full shift kit will also relocate the shift cable. a shift kit is welded and usually very well designed and constructed, whereas an adaptor kit is bolted on and just get the job done and grind a little between shifts. if you want, you can search around on here and i've seen pics of the 2 short shifters so you can get a better idea of what i'm talking about.
