Default MAP Sensor PLEAS HELP!!

ok I've got a 99 civic ex with a greddy turbo kit thats been running rich. i went to pull the check engine codes today because it started idling at like 200 rpms (barely staying on and sounding like a helicopter) i even unplugged the greddy emanage to make it easier. its also throwing out thick black smoke. i replaced the map sensor off another engine that i knew was working and its still thowing the same code (code 3 map sensor high/low input) does anybody else have any suggestions as to what could be wrong? i know theres a sensor in the intake thats also spliced into there, but apparently with the greddy kit its supposed to be that way...

sound like the map is detecting that theres less manifold vac than there is.. maybe if because of the turbo? i dnk... but a rich condition(thats what the black smoke is) is from a low input voltage to the ecu... i belive

umm it could be a number of things. could be because of the boost, could be because of a bad reff voltage... could be a bad ground. idk its hard to say.

nope just the emanage....i heard of that apexi part called the missing link...didnt see it for the y8 though....supposed to eliminate the check engine light but i dont know if it would help the idle and the richness

if you unplugged the emanage, you still need to reconnect the map.

i swapped out the map sensor last night and its still puling the same code so i just plugged the emanage back in...but its still barely idling, my new plugs are black, and its running way too rich...i heard about that synapse missing link and im hoping it fixes it.....have you had any experience with it? and then im wondering if somehow the wiring suddenly did just go bad....will them missing link still work?

low vacuum to the map sensor will also cause a rich condition.

im pretty sure the stock map will read up to 9psi, so i doubt its a bad map.

i had a 96 coupe and when i took the tuned ecu off and put another one on it was throwing a map sensor and it was doing exactly as u describe..im almost positive the missing link will fix your problem..and i dont think it reads 9..i hit 5 and it threw it..
