Default Streetfighter or café racer??

Alright guys, I'm probably selling the Kwak this summer to make a decent sale off of it and wait until winter to pick up a new bike. Herein lies my dilemma. I want something different, something to build, either a café racer or a streetfighter.
Now to me, both have their pros and cons, obviously. If I had a streetfighter I could still take passengers whereas if I had a café racer I'd get a solo seat. Chances are if I had a café racer I'd have some work to do to get it up in running order along with some serious money spending to do so. However with a streetfighter I'd spend a little less possibly for a better running bike and know that I have the reliability of a newer bike.
I'm just totally torn here guys, I love café racers, they way they look, sound, everything but I also love the badass-ness of streetfighters. What do you guys think??? Thanks for reading my long winded *** post.

imo there's not much difference between cafe racers and streetfighters now.

In what sense??? When I say I wanna build a café racer I'm talking full suspension overhaul or brand new parts, keep the engine stock unless it breaks, exhaust, clip ons, rearsets, and cosmetic stuff.
If I go streetfighter I'm leaving the clipons, new headlight/flyscreen, exhaust, belly pan, possible subrame swap depending on the bike, and possible new paint. I'm just confused as to what you mean by there's not much of a difference between the two.

Street fighter, because it looks bad ***, and you can still have a ho on the back.

ROFL. Love the siggy.

I say +1 to StreetFighter. The racer thing is fun, but for riding everyday, I think the s/f would bring more smiles to your face. When my SuperHawk was in s/f mode, I thought about pulling wheelies up and down the street. The bike felt more visceral, somehow, even though my only change was the headlight/fairing. Everywhere I went, people pointed and stared. Parents warned their kids about me. Women fainted. Porsche-drivers turned down a side street as soon as possible.

marmaladeboy - they do that to me with all my plastics on. you just need louder pipes I say streetfighter. I really wanted to do a sv650 streetfighter and had it all planned out to:

2003+ sv650 in black
belly fairing (just covers up the oil filter and is pointy looking )
gixxer 1000 front end w/ 6-pot brakes and clip ons
bar end mirrors
veypor guages
seat cowl so looks solo but can change if need be (my current bike is this way)
ohlins rear shock
dual headlight in the front
devil high mount

um.... I think that's it. I saw one in yellow similar to this and it was sick. looks cafe raceresque but is very nice overall bike that can hold a passenger

would look similar to this but the newer model sv

That's a nice lookin' bike.

As for loud pipes, I don't think it gets much louder than MiG pipes. Just about the same as D&D.

Awesome Matt. Can't wait to see the finished product.

#9, I've got a spare room and space in the garage. Make it a REAL road trip.

I'm looking to do the same thing. I might blend the cafe' racer and the street fighter a bit. but i'm definately going for the single seat, deul head light, belly pan, custom exhaust thing... even the SV looks sexy like that... i need to go find a nice cheap SV 650 and get my hands dirty...

btw anyone know what lights are used on that black one?

here is a link i found from the Euro guys doing street fighters. I'm liking some of their plastics at least... the side markers... but i need cleaner head lights.
