Any answers to hard to start when cold problems?
I thoroughly searched and found tons of ppl with the "it cranks forever but doesn't start" problem. I have the same problem with the gf's 96. If it sits overnight or is cold it is a bitch to start. When warm it starts totally fine.
Let me tell you things its not: battery, alt, plugs, wires, timing, cap, rotor, etc...
I'm pretty well versed in that stuff and I've replaced or checked all of it. So my question is have any of you been able to solve this problem? Search pulled up 58 posts with the same problem but nobody ever said, "fixed".
Thanks so much!

yes one of those posts are mine and i stil haven't fixed it. it is strange it won't do it after sitting in my garage were it is mid range temp but if it sits outside at work and it is cold it cranks forever but will eventually start and run like crap for a few minutes. won't have to worry about it for now because it is warming up here in tennessee
only time ive seen that problem is when my friend had a fuel pump switch and when it was cold i guess the contact spot inside the switch wouldnt work right. once the switch was replaced or taken out that problem was solved
Thanks for the replies. Anyone had fuel pumps going bad? I'm suspecting the fuel isn't getting all the way to the rail with full pressure until the injectors pulse to purge it.
I'm not familiar with the fuel pumps on these cars, where are they located? Thanks!

In a coupe the pump is underneath the rear seat. If you pull up the bottom to the rear seat you'll see the fuel pump cover.
Try this: Tomorrow morning turn the key to the "ON" position, but don't crank it. Wait for the check light to go off and then wait a few more seconds. Then try cranking it. That way the fuel pump should have more than enough time to prime and pressureize the lines.

I have that same exact problem and it won't matter if i just crank it or put it in the "on" position for a couple seconds and then crank, the result will always be the same. Takes a couple of cranks for it to start then when it does it kinda bogs down and finally starts
Check your grounds and main relay, if you already took care of everything else easy(tune up wise). I had the same problem, even bought a new starter from acura to find it was just my tranny ground was ever so slightly loose. It was barely loose, but it was the problem in the end. Haven't had problems since. good luck
Check the ect sensor, to see if there is a break in the wires or something leading up to the sensor.. That sensor tells the ecu weather or not the engine is cold. once the ecu kno that the engine is cold it will send more fuel or something to help it start.. That is what happen to me a few months back. severd the wires leading up to the sensor changin my tranny and it would not start untill the engine was warm.
