Weird Ideling, 94 Integra
Hi all, i have a 1994 Integra LS automatic...sometimes when im just sitting on the lights the car starts to shake like its about to turn off, the rpm drops down really low then it goes back to normal, it does this about 3 times then it idels normaly, then 1 min later does the same again. Yesterday i pressed the gas peddal to and the car just didnt move it felt like it got cloged up with 2 much gas and it almost turned off. (for 4 sec only then it started moving)
Any idea what that could be? Thanks all

u know what it could be! it could be that theres a crack in one of your fuel injectors. because i had some what of the same problem on my crx i had b4. and it would seem like its about to turn off and than sometimes when i step on the pedal it wouldnt really go either. so i checked my fuel injectors because one of my homies told me too and when i did that i found that one of my inectors were cracked and not spraying gas so check those!
im not an expert but some basic things to look at:
loose vaccums, bad intake or tb gasket, dirty iacv, fast idle thermo valve
when my idle started surging, it progressivly got worse. the rpms would drop real low and surge, then go back to normal. allways at idle, eventually the car just idled very high and would surge over and over again at idle. like i said it was progressive. 3 surges here and there, eventually nonstop surging.
1. to test for loose/bad lines and leaky gaskets, spray intake/carb cleaner around the intake manifold. if you find a vaccum leak the engine will rev up when you spray the cleaner on the affected area.
2. to test for FITV, remove the intake pipe at the throttle body. there are two holes located just inside the TB at like 7-8 o clock. i cant remember which hole is which but, when the car is surging plugging the correct hole will stop the surging. if that happens it's an easy fix that you can do yourself.
For me, my problem was the FITV valve. it's located just under the TB. engine vibrations over time shakes the valve loose inside it's housing. It's as simple as opening the casing with basic tools and literally screwing the valve back into place untill tight.
Hope this helps, Good Luck
