04-05 civic gauge cluster in crx?
i've already searched so don't lump me. i wanted to know if a 03-04 civic gauge cluster will fit/work in a crx(90-91) im talking about the clusters with the red needles and blue backlight. i haven't seen it and thought it'd be something different
Most likely, you'd never get it right.
Modern clusters base most of their information off network messages(most cars these days, including Hondas are using CAN networks, although each OEM uses a different message set and network topology)..
I design instrument clusters for a living(I work for Siemens VDO Automotive), specifically the electronics. While I don't know the details of the last Civic, I can say that this last month, I've been doing work for honda. I have the Odyssey, Ridgeline, Fit, and the Acura TL clusters taken apart on my desk at work.
All of those models rely on the network to provide all information for driving the gauges, as well as most of the telltales (warning lights), and information on the LCD screens.
If the EP is also using bus messages for its signals, then its all but impossible to do the swap.

That would be cool. I have been thinking about a TSX cluster because they are IMO the best looking gauges in any car ever period. It will definitely require a lot of custom work and pioneering. You'd be pretty much on your own figuring everything out. But its always cool to be a pioneer. Someone's gotta do it first.
