head lights/tail lights question.
i think this question has been asked before in this forum, but maybe i missed it. my question is, how do i open my head lights apart so i can paint it black to make it look like the black housing head lights siR. i have a 97 accord. i was told that i can put the head lights in the oven, but it has to be a certain amount of degrees so the head lights wouldn't melt. anyone knows what im talking about? if so, how many degrees am i suppose to set the oven. also what type of black paint do i need to purchase before painting it, and would the heat from the light bulbs melt the paint. it would be great if i can see some pictures. oh yeah, how do i put the head light pieces back together without causing them to fogg up with water in the future. thanks
a quick run down for you since some how you missed the 4674613746+137467955+8+959 other how to thread
400 degree for 10 min(number varies, some oven are blasting while some just blowing slowly)
make sure you keep a close watch, try pry it gentlely evey half a min after the 5 min, if you could get the glue off, then it's done.
once you get it open, do all the dirty work
make sure you don't leave finger print inside
put the pieces back in the oven and heat up the glue a tad, then take it out and put them back in together, THIS IS ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT, apply RTV silicone for places that glue is missing from. keep firm pressure on the lens while the glue is cooling, if you don't hold them right, the corner might pop up a little, while would become a gap.(gap/hole=leak=fog)
do one side at the time, you can't work fast enough to do both with the glue cooling as soon as you pull it out. if you fwak up one, you only need to buy one, not both

ok. i've tried to take my oem corners apart as an experiement before i try it on my oem stanley headlights. i did what u told me to do, setting the oven at 400 degrees and leave it for 10 minutes. it was too hot and it made my corners curl. i did my research and some people say that they set theirs on 250 degrees for 10 minutes. i tried this one as well, it worked, but when i tried prying the pieces off, the corners cracked in half. luckily i used the corners that i dont really need.
also i've tried looking around on google to find an instruction on how to take off my headlights from the bumper. i am in no luck of finding it. i need a step by step day by day instructions on how to remove my headlights from my bumper.
can somebody tell me how to get it off, which screws to take off and where? i would greatly appreciate it if theres a step by step instructions online somewhere. thanks
