Default CAI whistle

I bought a Cold Air Intake from ebay for about $40 and it was a breeze to install. The only problem now is that when i accelerate there is a loud whistle coming from the engine. First off, is ths normal and second off, how do i stop it. It is really driving me nuts. Anything would help. Thanx

it's normal to hear a slight whistle with a CAI, that's the air being sucked in. to get rid of the REALLY annoying loud whistle, don't buy an ebay intake and get a quality one. OR buy a K&N filter.

Or you could have just left it stock. No weird sounds, and $40 dollars cheaper.

or you could have just been viewed as the same old boring stock car driver. just another one of the millions unlike tuners/modifiers being viewed as (thanks to civic owners) one of the hundred thousands.

I'm obviously not gonna leave it stock so I think I'm gonna buy one of those AEM no oil filters. Will that take car of the really loud whistle?

i got a AEM short ram intake. it had the whistle but it wasn't that loud. i just swapped out the original filter that came with the intake to the new AEM DryFlow filter. it still has the whistle, but like i mentioned, it's not that noticeable unless you turn down your stereo and listen for it.

Now you only have to deal with all the dogs in the neighborhood howling when you drive through.
vtecpower3088 should look at the positive, at least now he won't have to worry about high speed deer strikes on the highway, they'll hear him coming........
