Default Vtec solenoid question

Ok I got a usdm b16 and the vtec just randomly stopped working...I cleaned the screen in the solenoid and reset everything and nothing...so im guess the solenoid went out...so if I buy one offline is it a direct replacement just swap em and it will be fine? or is other work needed? and does it matter if I put a jdm one on or a usdm, any help would be appreciated
