well i'm out of ideas....rear transmission mount won't go
on the rear transmission mount, the lower 19mm bolt will absolutely not budge. 1/2" impact with socket didn't even effect it.
im following the haynes and c-speed guide to replacing my clutch, and i'm worried something may be wrong.
can anyone lend any experience or advice? any tried and true methods of which mounts to remove first?
someone's gotta have something to say.

Are you trying to remove it or install it? First spray WD-40 on it. Do you have access to an impact? I pulled mine out this past weekend. I know how much trouble it can be. I luckily had access to an impact so everything went smoothly, But if you don't have one Raise the car up high and get under there with a short breaker bar. If it is the mount in the rear mount then you should jack the tranny up to get the weight off of the mount. Make sure that you put something between the jack and the tranny though (like a couple of rags etc.).
i'm trying to remove it. i have not tried using any solvents on it as the intermediate shaft and axles are removed. i had my impact on its highest level of torque and still nothing. as of right now, all three mounts are secure. i tried jacking the tranny up a bit with some wood for "cushion", is there a set order to remove the mounts in?
appreciate the advice...but my impact is on full tilt...ive tried a breaker bar all day and at one point was hanging off my traction bar's cross-member with all my weight on the breaker bar and nothing. still asking...is there a certain order for the mounts to come off?
I have a 90Ls. I upgraded the Tranny to an 99 Civic Si. This is how it went. First all the suspension parts (including the rods). Then I jacked up the Tranny. I removed the (If you are facing the front of the car) the top right Tranny mount. Then I crawled under the car and removed the Axle supports (Two bolts believe). Then I removed the Rear Tranny Mount. Then the front Tranny mount. I left the Starter bolts in because once all of the bolts are removed the tranny will fall right out. If you are still under there then be careful. The starter has two bolts. one of them goes all the way through to the block. Once you get all of the bolts out the Tranny will want to roll to the back of the car. it will roll off of the jack if you are not careful.

has anyone experienced anything like this? is it possible with one of the other tranny mounts out the tranny flexed back? im worried something may be wrong...
also...when removing the rear munt...it's just the two 19mm bolts and then lower the tranny from the bracket correct? or does the whole mount need to come down?

tried the above procedures...minus the plasma torch
....still nothing....bump for more insight

a 20" breaker bar is more than enough leverage..you can use a pipe on the breaker bar for better leverage. remember ur upside down and its righty tighty, lefty loosie
i cnt imagine that mount to be that tight.

But i'll be pulling my motor this summer so im gonna have to come up with something

im so expletive aggravated...i can't begin to describe it.
i guess being 5'11" and 135 lbs doesnt help
i've tried every which combination of jacking the tranny and engine and i just can't get it to budge....
if anyone is around north jersey and wants to help...post up and ill toss you some $$

hey quick question, the rear firewall mount, what side are you trying to remove it from?
The driver's side is where you take it out from.
Logicaly. if honda wanted to make it easy, you'd take it out from the passenger side..
but they didn't, and you have to be under the car to take it out from the drivers side.
Just an idea though, if you were trying from the passenger side.

I'm referring to the rear mount's bracket, the mount bolt is a 17, the two bracket to transmission are 19, and one top one, which is only removable from the passenger side is a 17mm. one of the bracket's 19mm, that goes through the bracket through the engine and threads in the transmission is seized/frozen whatever it is.
another day wasted with no progress

yeaaah i dunno, take a picture?
but .. isn't the rear mount the "firewall" mount.
You have one bolt to the mount, Two to the trans on the driver side,
and that one on the passenger side below the starter or w/e, as you said.
which one of those did you say was frozen?

What about putting the other bolts back in, then try to remove the stuck bolt. At least this way you are only fighting the bolt, and not the bolt along with the force of trying to hold the tranny in place.
one of the two 19mm on the driverside...i tried getting the other bolts back in..still nothing....
How big are your leg muscle's. Well anyway, put the breaker bar on the bolt and use your leg, kick that bitch like you were kicking a girl you got pregnant in the stomach. Remember, your leg is stronger than your arms+more leverage.
Whenever I take motors out, i remove the front tranny mount, ac/ps bracket mount, then the rear tranny mount. Then all that is left is the driver side mount and upper tranny mount.

how much torque does your gun have, prolly need a good air gun with about 400 or so. if you dont want to go buy one, just get it from home depot and return it
always nice to have one though. air impact or electric impact? they have one, a dewalt, electric with 350 lbs of torque. if you have an air setup get one with like almost 500 ft lbs if you can. that will take it off. WD40 should help, helped me take off my crank shaft pully bolt.

righty tighty lefty loosey
sounds like someone cross threaded those bolt when putting them back in. thats gonna be a huge pain in the ***. if thats the case i doubt you will get a 1/2" impact to break that bolt/loose, more likely you will have to use a 3/4" impact but you wont be able to get it up there where you need it. you are going to have to get a big pipe to go with your breaker bar. get someone who is heavier than 135lbs and have them give it a shot.
try heating up the bolt first with a propane torch

Heating it up might not work, because when you heat metal, it expands and constracts. It is worth a shot if all else fails but wouldn't resort to it yet. Think about what is flammable around there too. Oils, fuel line, etc.
