replaced clutch cable, now the pedal is real stiff
Last week my clutch cable snapped, so after gettting it towed home, i got a new cable and installed it. Now and for the past week, my clutch pedal has felt alot stiffer than normal. I have taken the cable out about 10 times now, and its still stiff, i have a 6 puck clutch, but it didnt feel like this before. what could be making it feel stiff?
Well, you have a 6 puck clutch, so you probably have a heavy duty pressure plate which requires more pedal pressure to release the clutch disk from the flywheel.
The increase in torque required to run the 6 puck has its downside. Your first cable probably gave up because the tension on the cable is increased. It was probably stretching before it broke. Now with the new cable, you are feeling the increase in pressure plate resistence, because there is no 'give' now. If you still have a stockish PP, then forget everything past "Well".
Also, is the engagement point at the pedal at the correct height of travel. Try adjusting with the adjusting ****. You probably did this, just checking.

i do have an upgraded pressure plate as well, i have greatly considered that there is nothing wrong that im just feeling what it should be like for the first time, im pretty sure its not binding, ive redone it about 10 times now and i paid attention to the one i took out, im gonna go with it and see how it feels
