lights flicker...alternator?
If my headlights and/or interior lights flicker a little when things are switched on/off, should I replace my alternator, or is it possibly not putting out enough power? Thanks in advance.
You're running up against a condition that can range from normal operation to an irritation.
You may have a battery that's not completely charged (a lot of short stop/go trips to the local A&W) or you've a voltage regulator which may be slow to sense the higher loads quickly enough.

P,
If it was any other car besides the 6th gen I would agree. The grounds on the 6th gen are not sufficient and cause this problem.
I just did my 90K service at my dealer and they provided me with a printout of what the car's electrical system is doing. I get approximately 100A from the alt and 700 amps from my battery.
My lights act just like his. Installed a ground wire kit and problem solved.

Ok.... Fair enough. But you'll notice I didn't say "Sc...w that other ------, they don't know what they're spouting off about".
I've never had to install a "Grounding Kit" (repair some grounds, yes) for anything other than high-end audio; but that doesn't mean it isn't a viable fix as well.
If you know from experience that something or some trick works, by all means say so.
I just didn't, therefore I won't.
Regards (as always)
