Default not starting, egg smell

I have been having some starting issues with my car of late. It will start, but it takes quite a while. Once starts up there is a nasty egg aroma. I searched, but all the posts related to a bad cat. I'm thinking one of three causes, bad battery, bad starter, or possibly a timing belt issue(tensioner maybe). Have any of you had this problem, and if so, what was it?

Once the car is running there seems to be no problem. The idle tends to be a little rough at times, but it doesn't seem to be a serious issue. I'm leaning towards the battery being the issue, and I will have that checked out tomarrow. In regards to the cat, I have 76,000 miles on my prelude, could it be time for a new cat? I figured if it wasn't rattling it was ok. The smell is only evident at start up. I appreciate the advice.

Regardless of standard warranty, emissions warranties are diff (longer) due to fed regulations. Check what it is.

It was the battery. I guess that I could still have a bad cat, but since the battery replacement no egg smell. Thank you for all the advice.
