Brighter gauges...tried leds
A couple bulbs went out on my gsr gauges.I went to pepboys and bought some super bright white led 194's.I put them in and they didnt light up worth a crap.Took them back and Im still here searching for something brighter.
My mother-in-law has a 2005 civic and her gauges look really nice and bright. Is it a diiferent kind of bulb or or the gauges them self?

I know this'll sound funny, but theres a *** you can turn to change the brightness...If you already tried that then maybe theres something electrical wrong with the gauges light sockets....

Thats probably the biggest part of it. The stock incandescent bulbs emit light in all directions. Most LEDs are narrow beam, and are much dimmer.

I tried doing this to my first integra but couldn't find anything that would make them clearer. I like the brightness on the gauges on the nw civics and accords. I eded up replacing them with layovers that had a serparte illumination that I could control.
I would like to know how to get them to shine clear. I have seen the lame neon glow type gauges. I hate those.
Are there any other options?

And i saw a pic already... they look awesome... and i believe i was quoted 18 dollars for all 3.... or was it 3.... god i wish i remembered the link to that thread... once i get mine im gonna post up a how to and what they look like for everyone

So get a 194 led bulb with 5 bulbs on the end?The ones I bought were like $9. for two. and Im sure they were bright just behind the gauges.
Also anybody know a write up on how to replace the ones for the Climate control buttons? Some light up some dont.

you'll never make your gauges looks like the new civics, unless you do some serious custom work. The new civics use LEDs and have cluster that are designed to distribute the light from those LEDs appropriately. Your integra's guage cluster was meant for incandescent bulbs and has pieces of clear plastic setup to help distribute the light evenly. By putting a LED in there (which is typically directional) the guage cluster can't distribute the light the way it needs to be. If you can find an LED 194 that advertises that it's omni-directional then you'll be better off.
http://www.superbrightleds.com has some 194 LEDs that are flat on top. That makes a big difference in how they disperse light.
